Today we launched a stand-alone mobile Venue solution for the Fernbank Museum of Natural History in Atlanta, Georgia. Established by educator and naturalist Emily Harrison, the Fernbank Museum of Natural History became publicly recognized in the late 1880s. At 65 acres, Fernbank Forest is the largest old-growth urban Piedmont forest in the country.
On October 5, 1992, the Fernbank Museum officially opened to the public, becoming one of the only museums in the world to grow out of a forest. Today the Fernbank Museum stands firmly as one of the most popular and iconic cultural attractions in Atlanta, serving nearly a half-million visitors each year.
The museum has a variety of attractions including permanent and rotating exhibits, an archaeology research program, IMAX Theater and dozens of special events each year.
The goal of this application is to provide a world-class, bring your own device (BYOD) experience for Museum patrons. Visitors will be able to easily navigate the multiple floors of the Museum and learn about the exhibits, special events and facility features as well as share items of interest via social media.
